Hi, I’m Brian!
I’m a contributing author for Enlightened-Digital.com. For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved to watch and comment on the way technology impacts our culture. I developed a love for music and video games at a young age and was immediately drawn to the technology that surrounded them. Computers and video game systems became a passion that would define the rest of my life.
Growing up in the 80s and 90s, my love of technology and culture actually started with music. I was always after the latest tape player or new model of Discman. Remember ESP mode? I was fascinated! How did it work? Why does it drain the battery so fast? Whenever one of my devices was getting ready to retire to make room for the next model, I would remove whatever Dave Matthews Band CD I was currently obsessed with and started taking them apart to see how they worked.
I’ve been building my own PCs for gaming since I was a teenager. Sourcing parts has certainly become easier than it was back then, but the ever-evolving capabilities of the machines themselves is what drives me. I’m obsessed with most strategy and base-building games, but I never fear the low-tech joys of a great Dungeons and Dragons campaign. (I DM as well; I’ve gone full nerd.)
I’m always looking for new challenges and ways technology can enhance my life and the lives of those around me. I love to stay with the trends and offer (what I think) is a unique perspective. When Sara asked me to be a contributor on her site, I jumped at the chance. I hope anyone who finds the site enjoys my articles and learns from them as well.
